Terms of Use
Last updated July 14, 2026.
These terms govern your use of Nargusta (the "platform"), a members-only website where yacht club members can find one another and offer reciprocal guest privileges. By creating a profile or using the platform, you agree to these terms. This is a plain-English policy for a small hospitality network. It is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for your own club's rules or for legal counsel if you need it.
1. Who can use this platform
Nargusta is for current members in good standing of a recognized yacht club or sailing club. By listing a club affiliation, you represent that you are a current member of that club. We may occasionally verify membership against club rosters or by contacting a club directly. If we determine that you are not a current member of a club you have listed, we may remove that club from your profile, suspend your account, or remove you from the platform entirely. You must be at least 18 years old to use the platform.
2. What this platform is
Nargusta introduces members to one another. It shows you other members, lets you search or browse by destination, and lets you send and receive connection requests. Any reciprocal privileges, club access, mooring, day sail, or local hosting that results from a connection is offered entirely at the discretion of the members involved. The platform does not itself grant club access, does not own or operate any club, dock, mooring, or vessel, and is not a party to whatever arrangement two members reach.
3. Connections and letters of introduction are not binding
This is the most important thing to understand about the platform, so we are stating it plainly. Every connection made through Nargusta, any agreement between members to host, reciprocate, or extend guest privileges, and any letter of introduction generated by the platform are voluntary courtesies extended between sailors.
They are not contracts. They create no legally binding obligation on any member, and no legally binding obligation on Reciprocal Sailing Network. No member is required, as a matter of law or platform policy, to host another member, to reciprocate a prior courtesy, to grant club access, or to follow through on anything discussed through the platform. The platform does not guarantee that any host will respond, that any connection will result in an actual visit, or that any club will honor a letter of introduction. Members participate in good faith and on the honor of the yachting community, not under any legal duty to one another.
4. Letters of introduction
When two phone-verified members agree to connect, the platform can generate a letter of introduction. This letter confirms that the two members are verified by phone and have agreed to act as reciprocating hosts. It does not replace a formal letter of introduction issued by a club, and it is not proof of membership at the host's club. Each member remains responsible for following their own club's policies and procedures so that a visiting member can be properly issued an official guest card, temporary membership, or introduction on arrival. If your club requires its own paperwork, a signature, or advance notice before a guest can be admitted, that requirement is not changed by anything generated here.
5. Your responsibilities as a member
- Follow the rules, bylaws, and guest policies of your own club and of any club you visit.
- Be honest about your club membership, home port, and what you offer.
- Treat other members with the courtesy and respect expected within the yachting community.
- Use the block and report tools available on the platform if another member behaves inappropriately.
- Do not use the platform to solicit business, advertise commercial charters, or contact members for purposes unrelated to reciprocal hospitality.
6. No warranty
To the extent permitted by law, Nargusta is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error free, or secure, that any member's stated club affiliation is accurate, or that any host or visitor will behave as expected. You use the platform, and any connection made through it, at your own discretion and risk.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Nargusta and its operator are not liable for any dispute, injury, loss, or damage arising from a connection made through the platform, from any hosting arrangement, club visit, day sail, or other activity between members, or from any club's decision to honor or decline a letter of introduction. The platform is an introduction service only. Whatever happens once two members agree to meet, sail, or host one another is between those members, their guests, and the clubs involved. Meeting other members in person and going on the water carry real risks that you accept yourself; please read our Safety and Assumption of Risk page.
8. Phone verification and SMS
Creating a profile requires phone verification. By providing your phone number, you consent to receive text messages from the platform, including verification codes and notifications about connection requests and responses. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of non-essential texts or HELP for help. SMS messages are sent through our provider, Twilio. See our Disclosures for the full messaging terms.
9. Termination
We may suspend or remove any member who misrepresents their club membership, misuses the platform, harasses other members, or otherwise violates these terms. You may stop using the platform, sign out, or pause your listing at any time.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time as the platform evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of the platform after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Contact
Questions about these terms can be raised through our contact page.
