The Corinthian Code
This network runs on Corinthian spirit: the old sailing tradition of hospitality, honesty, and seamanship offered freely between sailors, for its own sake and not for gain.
Everything here is offered in that spirit and only that spirit. Nothing on this platform is a contract, a legal or binding agreement, a promise, or a guarantee of anything. An offer of reciprocity is a gesture of goodwill, not an entitlement. A letter of introduction is a warm introduction between sailors, not a legal instrument or a right of access. Whether any club opens its dock, mooring, or bar to a visitor is always that club's decision alone, under its own rules.
What we ask of every member
It is honor, not law:
- Represent yourself honestly. Claim only the clubs you truly belong to and the experience you have actually earned.
- Host and visit in good faith. Extend hospitality as you would hope to receive it.
- Respect the house. Follow each club's rules and each host's wishes as a guest, not a customer.
- Reciprocate. Give back to the network when your turn comes.
- Communicate plainly and promptly, and honor the plans you make.
- Leave every person and place better than you found them.
- Keep it Corinthian. This is a community of sailors, not a marketplace.
The community governs itself
Trust here is earned from other sailors through verification and vouching, and it can be lost the same way. Abusing another sailor's hospitality or trust ends your standing in the network.
Sail well, and pass the kindness on.
